Mini Takes The States 2014 (MTTS)

St Louis to Chicago

On the twentieth day of our journey, we gathered at Gateway Motorsports in East St. Louis (IL) for our customary Breakfast Burritos and a drive around the track. We then headed off to Alton, Springfield, and Pontiac, following parts of Historic Route 66. We looked at the sites and some of the Route 66 nostalgia, then had lunch at a '66-style Quaker Steak and Lube in Springfield. We visited the Illinois Route 66 Museum in Pontiac as well. Then it was on to Chicago. We skipped the ball game, and instead had a great pizza at the original Pizzaria Uno's (just down the street from Pizzaria Due's).
