Route 66 - Arizona Fun Run®

Fun Run®

The images presented in these Galleries are selected photographs taken during several "Fun Runs®" along Historical Route 66 in Arizona, "The Mother Road." The Fun Run® is an annual drive from Seligman to Topoc (near the California border). The first Annual Historic Route 66 Fun Run® attracted an amazing 152 entrants in 1988! The Governor of Arizona, Rose Mofford, cut the ribbon, Will Rogers, Jr., was the first Grand Marshal, and the Delgadillo’s Band headlined the event. The planning couldn’t have been more perfect, except for the April showers, sleet, and SNOW!

Individual sets of Route 66 photographs are organized by state, so to select another state, click here. In addition to the iconic landmarks along the route, I have included some photographs taken in several cities along the route.

Note: A few panoramic photographs are included in the collection. Click here to see them in a larger format.

Many of the photographs are "geo-tagged" and may be located on Google Maps. If the photograph has a "Map" link (a small folded map), clicking the link will open up a new window showing where the photograph was taken. You may need to zoom the map to get additional detail. Simply close the new window to return to browsing the gallery.
